More Students Taking GCSE Exams Early
Exams regulator Ofqual has announced that many more students are taking GCSEs a year early. Statistics for Maths show that nearly a quarter of pupils taking the GCSE this year are under 16. Ofqual also released figures which show that tens of thousands of students have taken GCSE Maths several times, using different exam boards each time.

Primary School Place Shortfall of 120,000
Figures released this week show that 120,000 children may not be able to start primary school this year due to a shortage in places. White Students Less Likely to Apply to University than Teens from any other Ethnic Group
The university and colleges admissions service UCAS has released data which shows that white teenagers are now less likely to apply for university than teenagers from any other ethnic group. The research revealed that fewer than three out of ten 18 year olds have applied for degree courses in Autumn, while applications from black students have increased significantly since 2006.
