Hello. I'm David. I've been teaching English, English literature, politics and other subjects for nearly 30 years. I also write materials for teachers and students, and train teachers.

Tutoring is a way for me to use my experience and subject expertise to help people. I do lots of research (using the skills I learnt on my PhD) to make sure I know exactly what my students' examiners require, and then break the exam tasks down into simple, easy-to-follow exercises (using my experience of writing classroom material for a living). I give students lots of models of writing tasks too, and give them in-depth and immediate feedback so that they can improve the next time they try a task. My students often say my explanations are the clearest they've ever had, and they appreciate my models and detailed feedback. They improve quickly and get good results.

I like reading literature, writing and visiting galleries.
