At Blue Tutors we really want to achieve a transparent view of private tuition in the UK (and eventually worldwide). There are an increasing number of students who receive extra lessons outside of normal school hours, but the industry remains relatively secretive compared to state provided education.
We hope that a place where tutors and students can share their experiences (positive and negative) of tuition, will encourage more open debate on the subject, and ultimately help everyone to understand what more they can do to improve their teaching, to improve their ability to learn, and to make a success of each lesson.
Every tutor we meet has stories about why they love tuition, what disappointed them when they started, their most difficult moments, and their development as a tutor. By sharing these experiences, you can help other tutors to get started and make a success of their lessons, hopefully avoiding the pitfalls that we all tend to fall into when we begin teaching.
This is a big task, but every contribution will make a real difference to tutors, and therefore, to students as well.
