Speaking to Harriet, Tutors and Students, and Something not Related to Tutoring

It’s been another week of running around doing odd jobs, and not really concentrating on one specific thing. I’m starting to really get annoyed at weeks like this, because I’m so aware that I’m not getting nearly as much done as when I can spend at least a whole day focussing on one thing.

A fun part of this week was meeting with Harriet, and discussing a few changes to the way she works, and future improvements to the way Blue Tutors works in general. It was a very helpful chat for me, and now I’ve just got to find time to work on everything we talked about! Also, Harriet took a day off on Thursday, so I was covering the phones, and dealing with everything else that Harriet does. It’s a long time since I did that, and it really helps to speak to tutors and students, and keeps my mind fresh about what improvements I make are most important.

This week I’m actually having two days ‘off’. I put off in inverted commas, because I’m actually doing some assessing for someone else, analysing ‘soft skills’ within a company. Although it doesn’t have a direct link to tutoring, it’s not dissimilar the assessments we currently do, and I’m looking forward to it, and to seeing how the ideas could help Blue Tutors.
