The last week has been a real mix of excitement about the new assessment system, and stress about fixing all the little bugs with it. It was always going to be the case, but in practice there have been more problems than I could have anticipated. Thankfully, however, there were no very serious problems; I assessed a number of tutors on Thursday, and everything ran very smoothly.
An assessor who I trained ran some assessments over the weekend, and that also went well, so I’m giving myself a bit of a pat on the back today at a job well done. It’s been over a year in development, and it’s such a great feeling to realise that all the planning and work has been well worth the effort.
Having devoted more time than I had expected to the assessments last week, I’ve now got a ton of jobs piling up on my to do list, the first of which is simply to find more students who need help for their summer exams, so that’s what I’m going to throw myself into now.
