Blue Tutors Going Well, but Beware of Rising Tuition Fees

At the moment all is well in the world of Blue Tutors. September was our best ever, and I’m not sure if this is an indication of the economy getting better, but I’m giving a lot of the credit to Harriet and myself. We really have done a lot over the last few months, and it’s encouraging that our tutors are helping so many more students as a result.

I trained an assessor in Cambridge on Wednesday, which went very well – that sentence seems to be becoming very familiar, and then was back in Cambridge on the weekend for our old boys football match, which we actually won, so, all in all, a good week.

The only bad news this week, at least in my opinion, is that the government seem to have rejected the idea of a graduate tax, in favour of dramatically increasing tuition fees. Sadly, I think this may deter many very capable students from attending university. We’ll see what happens, but I won’t be surprised if I’m shortly writing about tuition fees being raised to £7,000 a year.
