I really am like a child sometimes. This project I have, which requires me to categorise over 6,000 qualifications, is something which needs a concerted effort to get done quickly. I need to spend a couple of days doing it non-stop. The trouble is that every time that little noise goes off to tell me to check an email, I just can’t resist it. And then I’ll just spend the next hour thinking about the email unless I deal with it there and then. I don’t know why I have such a short attention span at the moment, but I really have to try and concentrate more this week.
I did train another assessor last week though; someone in Birmingham. This should mean that we significantly build our tutor base in Birmingham over the next few months. It was quite frustrating last year, because although we had lots of requests from students in the area, we really don’t have many Birmingham tutors, certainly not compared to London.
Not much else to mention, other than that I’ll be testing our online tuition facility this week. There are a few kinks that our programmer needs to iron out, but once they’re sorted it will be all systems go, and in plenty of time for the new academic year.
