By Blue Tutors
Harriet was away for a couple of days last week, so I was manning the phones, dealing with emails, and generally doing the jobs that Harriet’s really good at, and take me twice as long. However, it’s actually a really nice time to be speaking to students, because at the moment lots of tutors are finishing lessons, and we’re getting feedback from the students. During the rest of the year the feedback tends to be quite mixed, because students only contact us when something is going wrong, or when they’re unhappy. This is a tiny minority of our total students, but it still feels like a lot. Right now though, almost every email we’re receiving is from a student telling us how great their tutor was, so it’s a very satisfying and uplifting time for me.
Elsewhere I fixed a small problem on our homepage; some of you may have had trouble with the login box there, but that’s now been fixed. It was an annoying little issue to do with secure and non-secure pages, and switching between them.
So onwards and tutor-wards this week. I’m going to be very busy marketing for more tutors, and I’m hoping to conduct a few assessments myself over the next few weeks, just to be sure that we’re recruiting as many new tutors as possible.
