End of Year Stuff

The big job this week was all the end of year financial stuff. It’s really just the employee return and company tax return, which I’m quite well practised at doing by now. The employee return has been made much easier by the HMRC’s software, so it’s essentially just a matter of clicking one button. The company return is a little more difficult, but not like it was 6 years ago when I did my first. I think it took about 3 weeks then.

It’s been great to see our tutors so busy over the last few two weeks while students have been on their Easter holidays. We tend to look at how busy periods are quite broadly (i.e. on a monthly basis), but if I were to guess, I would say that the last two weeks see more lessons than any other time; May is usually slightly busier than April, but never as busy as the Easter holidays.
