I spent the last half of last week in Newcastle with my friend who is helping me with our online tuition project. We decided a couple of weeks ago that we were getting nowhere with the software companies we were contacting. I really have found it bizarre how unprofessional so many of them seem to be; it’s like you have to nag them for the opportunity to give them some money!
We’ve decided to write a much more detailed document to explain exactly how the online tuition system will work, and I may even write many of the easier webpages myself in the hope that when we next contact a software developer they will understand how advanced the project is, and that we’re ready for them to start work as soon as possible. We’ve been concerned that many of the people I’ve spoken to so far have looked at me, and thought I’m quite young, which I am I suppose, and decided that the project is more of a pipedream than an imminent reality. Of course, I don’t really want to work with anyone with that attitude, but we need to get the software sorted as quickly as possible, so hopefully last week was a step in the right direction.
