Harriet’s on a well-deserved holiday this week, which means that I’m covering her work. Thankfully we haven’t begun to get busy yet in preparation for the next academic year; there tend to be an influx of tuition requests after the A Level results and again after the GCSE results, but that hasn’t started yet, so my week covering Harriet should allow me to at least do a few other things as well. Having said that, it isn’t just exam results that encourage people to contact us about getting a tutor. Private tuition has become so much a part of a normal education now that lots of our students get in touch before the start of the new academic year to ensure that they’ve secured a good tutor who can teach them until June/July the following year.
I also got a lot of the online tuition changes done last week, following my discussions with the friend who is helping me. It’s actually amazing how little work one can put in sometimes to get something looking really great. Loads of work went into all the nuts and bolts, and yet, while the pages still look a little ‘industrial’ they’re not impressive. Add a few pretty icons and more creative styling, and suddenly people seem really impressed.
