By Blue Tutors
I’ve been experiencing the joys of Javascript this week while working on the online tuition section of the website. That’s total sarcasm, it’s actually been very frustrating trying to get everything working nicely and smoothly. It will sound quite straightforward; all I’ve been doing is trying to allow students to highlight a particular tutor from a list, and choose whether to start a text chat with that tutor, or an actual lesson. I think my main problem is that I don’t use Javascript regularly enough, and keep forgetting how to do things. It’s all part of the trials of running your own business.
I haven’t really done any other big jobs, but there has been a lot of little admin things that I’ve had to take care of. There are two tutors at the moment who are disputing the amount they owe us after attempting to lie about their lessons. That, on its own, doesn’t really surprise me, from the moment we started Blue Tutors I realised that, unfortunately, a proportion of the people out there are dishonest, but what always seems to shock me is how self-righteous dishonest people are when they’re caught out. Oh well, I suppose I’m never going to be able to stop dealing with those people – I wish I could find a tutor assessment that spots them!
