Multitasking, Including a Little Coding

For the last week I’ve been multitasking quite a bit, and as a result I’ve felt thoroughly disorganised at times. I much prefer to be able to concentrate on one thing, finish that, and move on to the next, but sometimes that’s just not possible.

I’ve trained two new tutor assessors since my last blog. It takes just over half a day per assessor now, and is good fun, so feels like time well spent. We have quite a few assessors in London now, and one in each of Oxford and Cambridge. I have to find a few more in each of Oxford and Cambridge to meet the undoubted demand in the summer, but I also want to find more assessors in other places in the UK, so we can build our tutor database there.

I’ve also been doing a little programming recently; it’s much easier for me to learn how to do this, rather than requesting that someone else do it every time I want to make a change on the website. Now, I’m no programmer, but it’s gone quite well so far (no one has complained about the website dying on them). It doesn’t really come naturally though, so I should probably stick to what I’m good at, and leave the more complicated coding to someone who knows what they’re doing.
