Tutors Actually Read My Blog!

I had a few responses to the blog I wrote last week, which was a bit of a surprise. I suppose I shouldn’t be shocked that people actually read this page, after all, that’s the point of writing it. It was just nice to know that some people are taking an interest in what we do; the emails were generally about the test I’m trying to develop to test tutor effectiveness, or rather, the correlation between a tutor’s effectiveness and our assessment of their ability.

In the last week I’ve trained two new assessors, and assessed a few new tutors who were supposed to be assessed a week last Saturday, but, as I explained last week, couldn’t be assessed because the assessor was ill. It’s been quite a hectic week, and there’s no rest, as this week I’m in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham, all in the space of three days!

One of the reasons for the road trip is for a meeting with the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) company who help us. We’re trying to develop our website to rank higher on Google, and the main thing we can do is, fairly obviously, have a great tutoring website. The articles we’ve been adding recently is one development, but once this becomes a forum I think it will really get things moving, and hopefully that isn’t far away.
