Hello! It’s just like when we started at the moment, because Harriet’s away for a few days, and I’m taking care of everything myself. Obviously it’s one of the quietest times of the year for us, so I am able to get quite a lot done, whilst still dealing with all the calls, emails and admin. However, it seems like every time I’m in the middle of something, a tutor or a student wanting tuition calls up, and I lose where I was. Can’t be helped though, and I’m sure Harriet will be happy to know that she is really missed when not working.
Last week I was working for someone else on Monday and Tuesday, which was really interesting. I was assessing ‘soft skills’ for a company. It had all the same characteristics as our tutoring assessment; designed to be completely objective, and give a balanced view of each person. Now, I know I’m biased, but I couldn’t help thinking about how much I prefer my assessment for tutors. It just feels more complete to me, and I’ve spent hours labouring over the objectivity, and lack of ‘wiggle-room’ for an assessor’s interpretation. The assessing I did last week was good fun, and I think the results will be great, I just always feel a little uncomfortable when I can’t be as precise as I like to be for Blue Tutors.
