By Blue Tutors
I think my blog last week was slightly downbeat and pessimistic. I didn’t mean it to sound like that, and was probably over-reacting a little to how I felt. I was sitting in the Crowne Plaza in Cambridge when I wrote it, having just walked through town, and even though that was a nice thing, it just reminded me of how much there was to do, and that, being away from my desk, it wasn’t getting done.
Anyway, my reason for being in Cambridge was to train another person to assess tutors, and it couldn’t have gone much better. It’s really encouraging that the assessors are picking things up so quickly; the last practise assessment of tutor we did was virtually identical in the scoring, which is so rare. I think/hope that I’m getting much better at teaching the assessment, and that’s the reason for the incredibly positive training days recently.
Work did begin to get slightly better last week, but it’s still not going as well as I’d like. I’m tempted to just lock myself away in a country cottage for a week with no internet access, and no other distractions. I’d probably get lots done, but it might not be great for Harriet to have no support for a week. Onward and upward though, this week should see me complete a couple of improvements to the website, and also finally skin Wordpress so I can get that up and running as the display package for all our articles (apparently it helps with SEO).
