I have finally skinned WordPress so it looks exactly like the rest of our site. It’s taken much longer than I expected, but the upside is that it’s taught me loads about website design; something which I would have had to learn eventually, and I’ve always thought that necessity is a great way learn. All that’s left now is for me to transfer all of our articles over, and tinker with some settings. It means that tutors will still be able to write articles if they wish, but also tutors and students will be able to leave comments on each article about tuition. Hopefully, if you read my blog next week, you’ll be reading it through WordPress (although you won’t notice any difference).
We recently sent out lots of emails to our past students, and the results have been great, with so many requests for a tutor in the last few days. I really don’t know why we didn’t do this before, but it’s definitely something I’m going to keep up from now on. I feel that we’ve always kept in touch with our tutors relatively well (even though it’s always a balancing act between regular contact and bombarding tutors with emails), but the same probably isn’t true of our students. However, with student logins coming soon, I hope that it won’t be long before students also feel more connected to us.
