Well, I remember writing something last week about the Hong Kong new student form like ‘...all I have to do is...’. I really should think twice before considering any programming task to be so straightforward, because it really wasn’t. However, a couple of late nights and a lot of head-scratching later, and thankfully it’s done, and working properly.
Last week was actually really disorganised, because not only was I trying to get done the work that was planned for last week, but also the work that I failed to do whilst away the previous week. It didn’t help that I was slightly jet-lagged, and that I was tutoring until relatively late on 3 evenings, but I managed to fit everything in, and for the first time in a while I’m looking forward to a few days of normal, and hopefully productive, work.
One thing that was an important decision, rather than a laborious task last week, was choosing our next step for online tuition. I’ve decided to continue by using pre-existing software, rather than seeking to program it ourselves from scratch. This might mean that it’s not as tailored as it possibly could be for our needs (although it looks like it could be), but the major positive is that it will mean a working system very soon, possibly in only 2-3 months.
