Recently the US Department of Defense have announced that all US military forces and their families will be able to use a online tutoring program wherever they are around the world. The announcement was made by governor Jack Markell and senator Tom Carper along with Colonel Mansion Morris, and George Cigale, founder of the online tuition company, tutor.com.
The service is available to all eligible families in the Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy, and is intended to ensure that those families who are overseas will still have access to a good standard of education to help with their homework assignments and improve their grades. Markell said "Our brave men and women in the military have stepped up to serve our nation and it is encouraging to see people stepping up to do something good for their children. These parents are away fighting to protect their country and their children's futures. This online and on-demand tutoring program for homework and school work will help those children graduate ready to succeed."
Since the programme’s launch earlier in the year, tens of thousands of students have connected to a professional online tutor through the service, which offers help with any subject, including the core subjects, maths, English and Science. Cigale commented: “I still love watching students experience the power of connecting to a live professional tutor whose sole purpose is to help them solve their problem. We are so pleased to bring this unique, empowering experience to the millions of U.S. military students and their families around the world."
