Finally recovered from the food poisoning at the start of last week, and was briefly able to get something done having been completely unproductive in the previous seven days. However, on Thursday Harriet left for a conference in Canada, which left me manning the phones and doing admin work on Thursday and Friday. I have to say, it’s nice to do that every so often, but I do spend most of the time frustrated that I’m not getting on with my own work.
Most of my time has been spent catching up on planned work from the previous week, so I completed our VAT return, and finished off a couple of programming issues that I had discovered; just tying up loose ends really. Something I did sort out was tutors’ private profiles. Most of our tutors will know that they have public profiles – webpages where students can view a tutor’s qualifications and experience, and see some general information about the tutor. The private profiles will only be available to students who have been matched with a tutor, so the student will be able to see the tutor’s photo and contact details, as well as everything else that would usually be on the profile. One of the benefits of this is that when tutors turn up at students houses, the student will know for sure that the tutor is the tutor sent by us. I’m sure that lots of tutors will want to change their profile photo now we’re doing this, and we’ll send a newsletter out about that shortly.
