Loads of Students, and a New Tutor Assessor in Birmingham

It’s been a great week for us. At the moment I’m dealing with assigning tutors to students, which must be about 10 times as time consuming as 2 weeks ago: finding out which tutors each student wants, checking the tutor meets all the requirements, exhausting! However, it’s nice to be putting so many people in touch knowing that in a year’s time we’ll be receiving all the complements about these tutors in the way we’ve just received them about people tutoring last year.

It is a frustrating time for tutors though, because so many are keen to start with a lot of students, the result of which is that each tutors finds themselves not chosen for the majority of students they offer to teach. If you’re a tutor reading this, I know it’s annoying, but don’t lose heart, there will be a steady stream of students throughout September and October, and you’ll be as busy as you want to be by November.

The other exciting thing from last week was that we had a new assessor in Birmingham conduct his first assessments by himself. I really want to increase our tutor base in Birmingham, because we have a lot of demand from students there.
