I’ve been able to get stuck into our improved qualifications system this week. To be honest I’ve neglected it for a while because the task ahead of me is so intimidating; I’ve got to categorise more than 3,000 qualification names into different disciplines, and once that’s done I’ve got to cleverly link all of those disciplines together. I’m pretty sure that I mentioned this a couple of months ago, and it was just that it was so long-term that I didn’t do more at the time. It really shouldn’t be the case, but short-term jobs always seem more urgent.
Elsewhere I’m looking for a new assessor because we have so many people wanting to be tutors at the moment, and we’ve only really got one assessor in London who is regularly conducting assessments. This has kind of snuck up on me, but hopefully I will have arranged to train someone by this time next week.
