I must have spent 20 hours last week just trying to sort out a really annoying problem on the website. It’s all a bit technical (clearly even for me), but I was trying to use Javascript to query our database and display a result on a webpage, and it turned out to be an incredibly complicated thing to do. It wasn’t even essential, but I kept thinking I was very close to solving the problem, so persevered, and am now really glad, because the page works beautifully. The point of this is to create a page which neatly displays the way in which we have categorised subjects; something which I’m hoping to make available to tutors, so they can tell us if they think we’ve done something wrong.

Not much else has happened in the last week, and, to be honest, I’ve been a distracted with the Olympics, and lots of our tutors and students have been too. The applications from prospective tutors have really died down in the last week or so, which is handy because two of our main London assessors are out of the country for a few weeks. Thankfully there were loads of assessments in July though, so I’m confident that we’ve added a lot of quality tutors to our ranks in preparation for the start of the rush in late August.
