How do I get Promoted?
I often get asked this question and there is a very simple answer - be a great tutor. Be reliable, be prepared, be committed. If you are all of the above then promotion will follow the excellent feedback you continually receive from your students.
Our promotion system is based on the amount of tutoring you have done, the level of feedback you receive and the relationships that you sustain with your students. If you do anything to jeopardise your relationship with your student then your promotion is also at risk. Things which students, or their parents, are impressed with are:
- turning up on time, every time, or at least 99% of the time.
- being prepared for your lesson.
- being thoroughly aware of the syllabus requirements.
- returning emails / phone calls within an appropriate timeframe.
- completing a contract, that is tutoring until the time agreed at the beginning of the contract.
- responding to feedback from the student or their parents.
If the above describes your method of behaving with your students then promotion is a real possibility for you. In short, all you need to do to put yourself in line for promotion is be professional.
