Group Tutoring Course

Wow, I really hate doing admin. I’m going to have to find a better solution than just me covering when Rhian (or Harriet as it will be from next week) is away for any period of time. If I’m honest, I didn’t really plan last week very well; I’d arranged loads of things to do, including some tutor assessments, and just thought I’d fit the admin around my plans, but that proved to be pretty difficult. Add to that that last week was only 4 working days, but I had the backlog of emails and phonecalls from the 4 day weekend. Arrggh. Very busy.

One of the reasons that I had so much to do last week was because today I’m running a course for a new company concerned with tutoring standards, and I had to prepare quite a lot for it. The idea is to teach tutors how to tutor, but in a group session. I did try doing it individually, but it takes way too long to be practically or commercially viable. Anyway, hopefully today will go well. I’ve got a couple of friends coming along to give me honest feedback, and then a whole bunch of newish tutors who will hopefully find it very useful.
