A 10 year old in Leigh has achieved an A in the first part of his Maths A level, just 6 months after getting an A in his Maths GCSE. James Yuen has been praised by both his parents and his teachers after receiving the results of the A level Maths modules he took in January of this year.
James is being tutored by a teacher at Westcliffe High School for girls by Edmund Tsang, who teaches there. James’ school, Leigh North Street Junior School, noticed his aptitude for maths, and arranged for him to receive the extra tuition at the nearby girls’ school so that he could take his GCSE and A level in Maths early.
James’ tutor says that James is very resilient and motivated. They only have one hour of tuition each week, but he’s very keen and has massively improved his confidence in the last year. James lives with his parents above the family business, a Chinese takeaway, and even kept his focus when there was a fire at the takeaway in January.
